After spending years sequestered in a government lab, prodigy Lazslo escapes. When Big Mike calls Chuck's house to ask where Morgan is (he's playing arcade games at the pier instead of working his shift), Chuck flashes on Morgan's opponent – Lazslo! Chuck heads over there and talks to Lazslo, but Lazslo recognises Chuck's watch as a CIA device and runs off.
Casey conferences with Beckman from the Pentagon. Lazslo is a genius weapons designer who's been with them since he was 17. He's so dangerous, they can't afford to lose him. In the parking lot, Chuck is accosted by Lazslo, who tries to convince him that he's not a murderer – he was framed. He knows Casey is talking to the Pentagon inside. They fight for the gun, which turns out to be a water pistol. Lazslo asks Chuck to help him clear his name. Meanwhile, the agent who is trying to track down Lazslo visits Sarah at Weinerlicious. He informs her that Lazslo is mentally unstable, off his meds, and looking to make a bomb. They need to bring him in.
Lazslo scares Chuck when he links into Strategic Air Command and targets San Francisco for thermonuclear extinction. Lazslo takes off in the Nerd Herder car; Casey and Sarah give chase, but Lazslo evades them. Chuck flashes on a napkin doodle Lazslo made, and realises that he's on his way to the Santa Monica pier. Chuck finds the Nerd Herder car under the Santa Monica pier with a bomb wired under the hood. Lazslo arms the bomb, but Chuck manages to disarm it in the nick of time.
