EPISODE 02:
PARADISE LOST
US Air Date: 03/11/2007
Writer: Jason Smilovic
Director: Tim Matheson

Following on from the events of the first episode, Jaime and Becca Sommers attend Will’s funeral, who has apparently succumbed to his wounds sustained during the fight with Sarah Corvus. Jonas approaches Jaime to try and recruit her again, but she snubs him once, and again later on in a bar. Later on, she is called into Becca’s school, where the principal tells her that her sister has been caught indulging in a cheeky joint between classes. Jaime is understandably upset, but the main concern is happening miles away in the agency headquarters, where Jonas and Ruth are watching camera footage of a town massacred by a biological attack.
After Jaime saves a woman from committing suicide, she decides that her powers should be put to better use, and takes up Jonas’s job offer. She trains extensively with Jae, discovering more about her abilities and the inbuilt military programming that she now possesses. Eventually, she is assigned to the town of Paradise, where the attack took place, in an attempt to discover exactly what happened. While there she encounters the only survivor, but the pair are attacked by unknown gunmen, who Jaime disables in a real trial of her abilities. Meanwhile, Jae meets Sarah in a hotel and their relationship is rekindled (despite her being a violent psychopath). Thanks to the information gleaned from the operation, Jonas and his team are able to thwart several major attacks on US cities, and the episode ends with Jaime trying to reconnect with her sister.
