Kara holds Roslin at gunpoint, trying to persuade the president that she knows the way to Earth. To prove herself to the president, Kara hands over the gun and tells Roslin to shoot her if she truly thinks she is a Cylon. Roslin pulls the trigger, but the bullet misses. Seconds later, Marines rush in and take Kara to the brig.
The four secret Cylons speculate that Gaius might know more Cylon secrets than he's telling, and Tory reluctantly agrees to try to win his trust. Baltar assumes that Tory is spying on him for Roslin, but as they talk he is startled by a vision not of his usual invisible companion Six, but of himself. This mental Baltar encourages him to hear Tory out. Astonished, Baltar complies, and soon he and Tory are in bed together.
Controversy brews in the distant Cylon fleet. In the recent battle against the humans, the Raiders refused to fight – an unprecedented display of free will that exceeds their original programming. The Sixes, Sharons and Leobens want to celebrate and explore this evolutionary advancement. The other models, led by a Cavil, insist that the Raiders are merely malfunctioning and need to be 'fixed'. One of the Sixes retaliates by removing the Centurions' inhibitors, enabling them to think for themselves, and the Centurions gun down Cavil and his supporters.
Back in the human fleet, Lee leaves Galactica for his new government career. Moved by his departure, Admiral Adama realises he wants to believe in Kara – he gives her a ship and tells her to return once she has plotted the way to Earth.
