Ridley Scott is making Prometheus 3 and 4 noises

Ridley Scott’s got ideas for tying Prometheus into Alien at some point

With Prometheus 2 confirmed as his next project, Ridley Scott will be fielding more and more questions about where he’ll be taking the xenomorph. We already knew that we wouldn’t be seeing the classic alien in the next film, but he’s just revealed some interesting teasers about future sequels.

Speaking to FilmFutter (via Coming Soon), Scott said that he planned to connect with the Alien franchise, but not yet.

“Yes, but it won’t be in the next one. It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the Alien franchise… The whole point of it is to explain the Alien franchise and to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself.”

“I always thought of the Alien as kind of a piece of bacterial warfare. I always thought that that original ship, which I call the Croissant, was a battleship, holding these biomechanoid creatures that were all about destruction.”

Given that Scott has a million projects on the go and the fate of Prometheus 2 always seemed a bit uncertain until recently, we wouldn’t get our hopes up about these sequels happening soon, but it’s interesting to see that he’s got a point in mind for tying the universes together more than the jumble of half-references Prometheus threw at us.

There’s also the matter of Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5. It’s all been a bit quiet on that front recently, which we assume is due to Blomkamp being busy writing the script.

Prometheus 2 begins shooting in February 2016 with Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace returning as David and Shaw respectively.
