Forming a part of NBC’s pilot-heavy assault on the 2010-2011 season, Summer Glau has joined superhero project The Cape as Orwell, an investigative blogger, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The pilot follows a framed cop (ER’s David Lyons), who adopts a superhero cape to clear his name. Orwell will apparently help the protagonist, chasing down crooked cops and villainous bad-’uns in the show.
Based on the subject matter, we’re optimistic about The Cape, which should hopefully fill the superhero void if Heroes is put out of its misery in the coming months. That said, NBC has ordered a lot of pilots this season, so the competition will be stiff when the network decides whether The Cape will be picked up to series or not.

I’m glad to see Summer Glau still getting work (though I secretly hope they are planning a mini-movie finale to tie off that really great Sarah Connor Chronicles cliffhanger), and The Cape DOES sound tempting… It could be a light-hearted take on the superhero drama, so as long as they make engaging characters like in Chuck, it could be a hit! Why so harsh on Heroes though? I find season four to be much more tighter and story-driven than most of season three, and it seems to be going back to season one’s roots… I wouldn’t complain if Heroes came back for one more season…
I love heroes been watching since season one, the third season is my favourite, People should give it a chance, its still good. Summer glau is hot we should get to see more of her.
Summer Glau is an amazing actress, unfortunately she was underused in The Cape. I hope one day she gets a show that’s awesome.
She deverves that much, such a talented actress.
