Spoiler: Dollhouse – S02E13

by James Rundle

Back to the future for the resolution of the Epitaph arc.

Dollhouse S02E13Episode 13: Epitaph Two: Return
US Air Date: 29 January 2010
Writer: Maurissa Tancharoen, Andrew Chambliss, Jed Whedon
Director: David Solomon

One year after the events of Epitaph One, the world is still gripped by the cataclysmic effect of the wiping technology. Echo and her team rescue Topher from Rossum when he sends word that he has the solution, and it leads them back to the war torn streets of Los Angeles. They fight their way back into the LA Dollhouse, during which Ballard is killed, and Anthony and Priya re-establish their relationship. Topher has developed a pulse bomb that will send a wiping signal into the ionosphere, and sacrifices his life to set it off. Afterwards, Echo and Alpha are left unchanged, and DeWitt promises to lead the newly wiped Dolls through the new world, which, it is implied, will rebuild. Echo imprints herself with Ballard and goes to sleep in her pod, now that Rossum is finally defeated for good.

Oops, almost read it there! It’s great to see we are getting another Epitaph, but it’s also a shame there is no season three. I reckon the show could go on… maybe a movie or a comic book series would be ace!

Given the comic adaptations of Buffy , Angel and Firefly I’d say that’s almost guaranteed to happen with Dollhouse

    • James Rundle said:

Actually, I think Joss Whedon has categorically ruled out comic adaptations – he says the series doesn’t lend itself very well to the medium.
