“I was kicking myself that audiobooks haven’t been on my mind before,” says award-winning author China Miéville, whose written works have finally been made available to download on Audible.co.uk for the first time. “Now loads of people are listening to books on MP3s and so on, beyond the original audience, plus people who are visually impaired. It’s been a long time coming.” The audiobooks are narrated by British actress Susan Duerden, who played Carole Littleton in Lost. “It’s very exciting and strange to hear my books read in someone else’s voice; I know her work and she’s terrific,” says Miéville.
The downloadable content can be listened to on MP3 playes, iPods or smartphones.
