Chuck’s survival chances may seem good, but…

by Samuel Roberts

Spy-fi drama is still floundering in the ratings battle.

Although in an interview earlier this week, NBC head Angela Bromstad mentioned that Chuck would be a good fit for the network’s revamped 2010-11 line-up, the spy drama’s ratings aren’t exactly making the best case for it.  Last week, Chuck hit a season low of 5.3 million viewers – and this week it matched it. The show appears to have levelled out, but it probably doesn’t help that the number is far below its seasons one and two averages.

That said, the show was put in a block that included one repeat and a new episode of Law & Order, and faced competition from heavy-hitters on other networks. It’s a shame, though. Chuck deserves to find a bigger audience, but at this rate, it may not have the chance to before the jury’s out on the show’s potential fourth season.

Imagine a world in which Heroes was renewed but not Chuck. Brr…that’s a dystopia more chilling than any provided by science fiction up until this point.

Really hope Chuck gets a fourth season – can’t wait for it to start over here! Does anyone have a start date yet as it still keeps saying coming soon on Virgin 1! :)
